Research award for Jo

Congratulations to Jo Song, who has received an award from the Engineering Learning Initiatives to continue her research with us.  The goal of Jo’s undergraduate research proposal “A Modeling Framework for Multi-Compartment Metabolic Interactions” is to develop new computational tools to quantify metabolic flux between multiple bacteria in symbiosis with animals.  This project builds on the research training Jo has received with us over the last year under the day-to-day supervision of postdoc Nana Ankrah, and with financial support from NSF grants IOS–1354743  (PI Douglas) and the NSF-funded Aristotle Federated Cloud Project ACI-1541215.  Great work, Jo!
