Shifting the Paradigm: Microbes as Animal Help-Mates

Exhibition of animal-microbial symbioses

An exhibition of micrographs of twelve animal-microbial symbioses is on display in the Mann Library, Cornell University until the end of January 2014. From sponges to hyenas, via corals, insects, squids, fish and worms, the exhibition displays the intricate relationships between animals and the microbes on which they depend. The visual display is complemented by poems written especially for the event by Tiffany Brooke-Taylor.

The exhibition was opened with a lecture given by Professor Margaret McFall Ngai on the Art of Unseen Partnerships: The Beauty of Small Things. The lecture was followed by a reception held in the gallery. More information is available here
