Grand Finale Genomics Workshop Seminars

This year’s genomics workshops for undergraduate students from Corning Community College (NY) and University of Mansfield (PA) closes with a day of seminars given by the students. Each of the 10 students described their discoveries of the bacterial genomes that they individually sequenced and annotated, and they discussed their results with genomics researchers at Cornell University. We thank Karen Adair and Jacob Tyrell (Cornell University) for presentations on their research on metagenomics and pathogen evolution, Dr Brenda Gustin (CCC) and Dr Jeannie Kagle (UM) for their marvelous support and mentoring of the students, and - most of all - Bessem Chouaia, who organized the science and logistics for this year’s series of workshops.
